I just love my vintage snack plate sets!

Doug and the girls love this recipe for No Bake Cookies! So simple and very little time to make something so delicious. It is wonderful stove top recipe! I feel a little better knowing that there is peanut butter and oatmeal in this cookie…
even if there is 2 cups of sugar. :D

      No Bake Cookies

      1 stick unsalted Butter
      2 cups Sugar
½ cup milk (2% or Whole)
      ½ cup of unsweetened Cocoa
      ½ cup Peanut Butter
      3 Cups quick cooking Oatmeal
      1 tsp. pure Vanilla

Place a large sheet of waxed paper on your counter.

Heat a medium/large saucepan on medium high heat. Bring to a boil your butter, sugar, milk and cocoa. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in your oatmeal and peanut butter. Once that is mixed, add your vanilla. Using a spoon, scoop your cookie batter onto the wax paper in dollops. I use a larger spoon because we like a larger cookie. You don’t want to dilly dally too long as the mixture begins to harden fairly quickly. Don’t panic but I wouldn’t set it aside to go watch TV either. :-) Once it’s on the wax paper let it harden for 30 mins to 1 hour and store in your favorite cookie jar like this one.

I know it’s not vintage but I love it just the same!

Isn’t that simple?!? They are delicious and melt in your mouth!

      You want one don’t ya??

These sound delicious! I think this is the No Bake Cookie recipe my grandmother used to make. Thanks for posting. I’m going to try it.

It probably is Patty. It is definitely a common and old recipe but one that is so yummy! Let me know how you like it! :-)

  2. Oh this sounds neat! I like that it sets without needing to be refrigerated… And who can resist the call of chocolate and peanut butter together! :) I am afraid to make this because I may end up eating more than my fair share :) LOL :D Great post, Tara!

    • Tara says:

Yep, they set up nicely right on your counter! It is one of our weekly recipes. LOL And I can’t say you won’t be eating them… p.s. Goes wonderfully with your morning cuppa.. jus’ sayin’! :-) Thank you Marsha for taking the time to visit often! I appreciate it so much!

I have made these for years….I just made them last week but used peanut butter/coconut oil and of course they didn’t set/harden…ate them any ways….guess I’ll have to adjust the butter if I use the same peanut butter

    • Tara says:

I have found that this recipe is finicky to say the least. The peanut butter that I use is a natural blend that only has peanuts and a little salt; nothing else. I’ve never tried a peanut butter/coconut oil blend before so sorry I can’t help on that one Debbie. I’m glad you stopped by! :)

This sounds so yummy. Do you think adding some chopped walnuts would work in this recipe? I especially love cookies with chopped walnuts!

    • Tara says:

I think that would be great Leslie! It shouldn’t change the composition of the cookie at all. I would add them in when you add the oatmeal. :) Thanks for stopping by!
